Today, I did not have any morning duty. During the second period, I continued with the lesson 'A Shipwrecked Sailor' and made the learners do a simple activity on providing articles in a passage based on the lesson. We did the midday meal serving today.
The day marked the inauguration of 'Swachta Pakhwada,' a fortnightly observance of cleanliness drive and related activities. This central government programme was inaugurated by the honorable minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gases; and Tourism, Sri Suresh Gopi . IOC state representatives and officials of the State General Education department too graced the event. The pupils from upper primary, high school, higher secondary and vocational education gathered in the school auditorium and ground to witness the event.
After the inauguration, Sri Suresh Gopi delivered the inaugural address driving home the need for protecting and preserving the pristine nature of Mother Earth. He distributed hygiene kits and tree saplings to selected students. He himself planted a sapling in the school premise, accompanied by the Principal and Headmaster of the institution. He took groufies with the students before he left. We teacher trainees were given duty to assist class teachers of different classes to maintain discipline.
