Poster Making Competition in association with World Human Rights Day.

GCTE Thycaud in association with Human Rights and Ethics Cell organised a POSTER MAKING COMPETITION  in connection with the  International Human Rights Day. The theme for the Competition was "DIGNITY, FREEDOM, AND JUSTICE FOR ALL".  The event was conducted from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm on 12th December 2022 . The venue for the competition was Sanskrit Room . Each Department came up with a poster.

The competition was mandatory for all the Departments of B.Ed and M.Ed. The participating teams were not allowed to use any stickers. The posters would have to be original which can be accounted for and have not been competed or published. Chart papers and sufficient color pens were brought by the student teachers themselves. Teacher volunteers and student volunteers cane to the  Sanskrit room  at the time of competition for observation. Code numbers were  given to the posters to ensure the transparency of evaluation. ASSESSMENT CRITERIA included the following: Relevance to the Theme, Originality,   Creativity,  Colour Harmony  and   Visual Impact.

I engaged two periods for 8E class today. Since the lesson 'The Nightingale and the Rose' was completed, I gave the learners a few activities based on the same. A story board completion chart was displayed and the learners were randomly called to complete it. After the task, the teacher confirmed the answers and cleared doubts.  I also made the learners do a passage editing activity and error correction activity. During the last period, I conducted a test for them on the poem 'The Sower'. The examination was held for 15 marks and for thirty minutes duration. Since I could not take print outs of the question paper, I wrote down the questions on the board and asked the learners to write down the answers.  After collecting the answer sheets, I asked the pupils to complete a few activities,  including poster making activity given in their English Reader and submit the works by Monday.

The Jolly Hollies 2022

"I heard the bells on Christmas Day Their old, familiar carols play, And wild and sweet The words repeat Of peace on earth, good-will to men!" Thus sang the American poet Henry Wadsworth Long fellow. Christmas was traditionally a Christian festival celebrating the birth of Jesus, but in the early 20th century, it also became a secular family holiday, observed by Christians and non-Christians alike.Popular customs of Christmas  include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends and, of course, waiting for Santa Claus to arrive. GCTE Thycaud too celebrated Christmas on 22nd December, 2022. Teaching Practice: Phase 1 : Day 25

I engaged two periods for 9F today and completed the story 'The Last Leaf' for them. Then I gave necessary instructions to them so that they could complete the textual exercises on their own. I asked the pupils to come up with alternative titles for the lesson . I also dictated to them notes on the poem 'On Killing a Tree' which they took down in their notebooks.  For 8E class, I continued with the story 'A Day in the Country' using vocabulary and powerpoint slides as aid. I had to rush the lesson a bit since their portions were pending and revision classes were about to begin prior to the Christmas examination.  Preparations for the upcoming state-level vocational fests have already begun. My fellow teacher trainees took Physical Education classes during the second and third periods.
