Release of Jessy's poetry anthology "Unheard Voices"
November 4, 2022 was a memorable day for us, the first year GCTEians. A budding poet from among ourselves, Ms Jessy M had published her first ever poetry collection entitled " Unheard Voices" consisting of 36 poems. The book included poems written by her right from her school days to the present, thereby allowing the readers to aptly trace the nuances of the poet's thoughts through years. Each of the poems in the collection deals with a different topic, some thought sprinkling ones and others heart touching. The book release was heralded by our respected principal Dr. VK Santhosh Kumar and the book was received by Ms. Sheena Elizabeth, Assistant Professor in English Education, GCTE. Both of them congratulated Jessy for her maiden endeavour in book publishing. Santhosh sir reminded all prospective writers to make use of lucid style in their writings. Sheena ma'am talked about the possibilities offered by online platforms too for the writers of the present age and exhorts us to utilise the same to get a wide viewership for our writings. We believe that Jessy's example will inspire and motivate all future authors among us. My personal favourite from "Unheard Voices" is the poetic piece entitled "Perfect Union", about the fusion of the individual soul and the Supreme soul. The lines "My soul longs to embrace you, it has set/its heart on you from time immemorial/God, when will I hear your voice?" takes one to ethereal realm replete with God's love and reminds one of man's yearning to become one with the ultimate force.
