Teaching Practice Phase 2: Day 10
I engaged two substitution periods today for 9C class. The class was really difficult to manage with students acting as tearaways to the extent that I felt relieved enough for a strikhedonia when the periods came to an end. We fulfilled noon meal serving duty. In the afternoon, competitions were held for students - one for identifying the authors of famous novels and autobiographies written by English and Indian English writers and the other one on news reading a la a reporter. One of my former students, Avantika grabbed third prize for the first competition and I congratulated her.
I had last period in 8F class. After distributing notes to the learners and discussing the common errors found in the letters submitted by them in association with the previous day's class activity, I briefed on the topic Noun Phrase. Since I got only about 15 minutes during the last period, I couldn't take my lesson plan. Even with noun phrases, the students raised a good many doubts. I assured them that I will take the topic in detail later. After line duty, we left the school.
