Teaching Practice Phase 2: Day 28
I took the rest of the poem 'Marvellous Travel' in 8f class today during the second period. The learners could recall the content dealt with in the previous class.I took the last two stanzas of the poem there and explained the unfamiliar words using ICT resources. I gave time for the learners to take down the meanings of these words in their note books. A discussion was initiated on the topic 'how to travel without money' and the learners came up with a wide range of ideas like hitchhiking, packing homely food, carrying items for cooking and cooking on the roadside, travelling by electric vehicles at low cost, carrying tents and camping in allowed places, halting at friends' and relatives' houses and so on. Majority of the students were given a chance to express their view points regarding the topic. The discourse given in class was regarding the formulation of a travel plan with friends.
