Teaching Practice: Phase 1 : Day 25

I engaged two periods for 9F today and completed the story 'The Last Leaf' for them. Then I gave necessary instructions to them so that they could complete the textual exercises on their own. I asked the pupils to come up with alternative titles for the lesson . I also dictated to them notes on the poem 'On Killing a Tree' which they took down in their notebooks.  For 8E class, I continued with the story 'A Day in the Country' using vocabulary and powerpoint slides as aid. I had to rush the lesson a bit since their portions were pending and revision classes were about to begin prior to the Christmas examination. 

Preparations for the upcoming state-level vocational fests have already begun. My fellow teacher trainees took Physical Education classes during the second and third periods.
Manju ma'am asked me to hold a retest for 9F students who could not attend the mid-term examination on Monday. Overall, the day went as usual, in an uneventful manner.

Poster Making Competition in association with World Human Rights Day.

GCTE Thycaud in association with Human Rights and Ethics Cell organised a POSTER MAKING COMPETITION  in connection with the  International Human Rights Day. The theme for the Competition was "DIGNITY, FREEDOM, AND JUSTICE FOR ALL".  The event was conducted from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm on 12th December 2022 . The venue for the competition was Sanskrit Room . Each Department came up with a poster. The competition was mandatory for all the Departments of B.Ed and M.Ed. The participating teams were not allowed to use any stickers. The posters would have to be original which can be accounted for and have not been competed or published. Chart papers and sufficient color pens were brought by the student teachers themselves. Teacher volunteers and student volunteers cane to the  Sanskrit room  at the time of competition for observation. Teaching Practice Phase 2: Day 36

Today marked the end of the second phase school internship. I could successfully complete the portions assigned to me by Maja ma'am for 8f learners. The students gave an informal farewell for me to my surprise. I along with my fellow trainees  who engaged 8 8f were invited to the class during the 6th period. The pupils had taken effort to scribble on the blackboard all our so called hackneyed dialogues and topics which we taught in the class. Even some of the discourses I gave in the class like movie poster making, news report writing and travel agency flyer were written and highlighted on the board. I collected personal feedbacks from the learners.  Most of them opined that they enjoyed all the class activities given. Some opined that they could understand the target language-use in the class only to a certain degree.
